We are Thankful Bulletin Board Idea!

We are Thankful Bulletin Board Idea!

Sometimes a simple prep bulletin board goes a lot further than those bulletin boards that take you hours to prep. I know as a teacher; I am always limited on time. Teachers want their classroom decor to look adorable, be effective, and not take hours to work on!

As a kindergarten teacher, I always want to allow my students to help contribute to our classroom decor. The children love seeing their work on display, makes them feel valued, and helps build a classroom community!

You use this bulletin board idea with your students as they will each get their own copy of the turkey outline included in my Teachers Pay Teachers resource. We are Thankful! November Bulletin Board by Miss Meredith Made | TPT (teacherspayteachers.com). Each student will then write one thing they are grateful for on each blank feather. Each child can write their name on the turkey's belly, then color in their turkey's! If your class is able, they can also cut out their turkey!

I always like to brainstorm as a class before making the turkeys, what we could be thankful/grateful for. Usually, we make a class anchor chart to give the entire class some solid ideas before they get to work!

After your class has completed their turkey "craftivity" all you have to do is attach them to your bulletin board and print off the letters included in my resource that say, "WE ARE THANKFUL!"

Tips: 1. Print Turkeys and letters on cardstock. This makes them much more durable and easier to cut out! Also, it makes it so much easier for children to color and cut!

         2. Laminate finished turkeys and letters to make your bulletin board look sleek. You can also then send home each child's turkey as a keepsake and keep the letters for next year! 😃

Lastly, one more thing I like to do when the students have completed their turkeys is let them share with the class what they are grateful for. This is a great way to build classroom community, get in the fall spirit and allow your class to practice their speaking/listening skills.

Color word Leaves!

Color Word Leaves!

Every morning as a teacher, I love having students come in, put away their supplies and be in the routine of working on "morning work." Having your class work on morning work in the morning before class "officially" starts is a great way to decrease the number of misbehaviors and have a calm, safe learning environment.

I always like to have morning work that focuses on what my class is learning to serve as a good review to set the day. In the fall, my kindergarten class is often reviewing color words. You will love this resource for your class if you want your class to practice reading/recognizing color words, practice their fine motor skills and have a resource themed for the fall season!

If you would like to add this printable/downloadable worksheet to your classroom materials, I have this resource for you here: Color word leaves! by Miss Meredith Made | TPT (teacherspayteachers.com)! Please follow me on Teachers Pay Teachers if you would like to see future helpful classroom resources! 😊🍂

Fall Decorating- Elementary Teacher Style!

 Fall Decorating- Elementary Teacher Style!

If you are anything like me, as a teacher (and self-proclaimed perfectionist), you love to decorate and have your classroom feel festive for each season! We all know how little time teachers have, so to hopefully make you not stay too late before or after school hours, I have some resources that will really help you!

My school district is always a little finicky about holiday specific decor (ghosts for halloween, etc).,,sigh! So, I made a bulletin board that would appease administration and make me feel happy in the autumn spirit! If you relate, or just want a bulletin board that can stay up for 3 months (September, October, November) this resource may be for you! Having a bulletin board that can last the entire fall season is always a stress reliever for any teacher- we have enough work on our plates!

This bulletin board is very easy to make. If you follow this link,  Look Who's Hiding in the Leaves! Bulletin Board Letters by Miss Meredith Made (teacherspayteachers.com) all you have to do is simply print these letters out on your desired color of paper, cut out, and attach to your bulletin board/door decor! You can absolutely make these letters yourself. However, I will be honest with you, making these bulletin board letters is tedious and time consuming. If you decide to download, please follow me on my TPT store to view future helpful resources!

The resource linked above only includes the letters for your convenience to print and cut out. I made the leaves separately as shown in the picture. You could easily print off pictures of leaves, cut and have a similar looking result. I used an old-school image press that my school district has.

TIPS: Print letters on cardstock then laminate! Not only will this look so much sleeker and be more durable, you can then store these bulletin board letters and use for years to come. 👌😍🍂
